Job Description

Magnitude Recruitment is seeking a hands-on and knowledgeable Temporary Engineer to join a 75m+ motor yacht for an upcoming maintenance and shipyard period.

This role is suited to an experienced engineer who is confident working across a range of systems and capable of supporting a busy maintenance schedule. The successful candidate will join the engineering team during a key operational period, assisting with planned works, overhauls, and general shipyard maintenance.

This is a practical, hands-on role requiring strong technical ability and prior experience within a yacht engineering environment.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience as a 2nd or 3rd Engineer on yachts
  • Strong all-round engineering knowledge and hands-on capability
  • Experience working in shipyard or maintenance periods preferred
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Engineering certification from AEC upwards (EOOW or SV Second Engineer preferred)
  • Valid STCW certification and ENG1
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)

Engineering Responsibilities

  • Support onboard systems maintenance and repairs
  • Carry out general shipyard maintenance and engineering tasks
  • Assist with planned maintenance schedules and defect resolution
  • Maintain high standards of safety and operational compliance
  • Work closely with the Chief Engineer and engineering team

Programme Details
