Job Description

Magnitude Recruitment is seeking an experienced and motivated 2nd Officer to join a 60m private motor yacht operating a live-aboard owner programme.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional Officer looking to join a well-established vessel with a strong onboard culture, high standards, and an active cruising itinerary. The successful candidate will work closely with the Captain and bridge team to ensure the safe navigation, operation, and management of the vessel.

The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and confident in all bridge operations, with strong leadership and communication skills.

60 days leave per year. Euro Salary with Bonus. 90 day probation period. Starting ASAP

Key Responsibilities

Bridge & Navigation Duties

  • Assisting the Captain with all navigational and operational aspects of the vessel
  • Maintaining safe navigational watches underway and at anchor
  • Passage planning and chart corrections
  • Monitoring weather, routing, and navigational safety systems
  • Maintaining bridge equipment and navigational publications
  • Assisting with ISM, ISPS, and safety management procedures
  • Conducting regular safety drills and crew training exercises
  • Managing safety equipment inspections and servicing schedules
  • Maintaining accurate logs and vessel documentation

Deck Operations

  • Supporting deck operations during docking, anchoring, and tender operations
  • Supervising deck crew and assisting with daily task allocation
  • Assisting with maintenance planning and deck inventories
  • Ensuring the exterior of the vessel is maintained to the highest standards
  • Assisting with water sports and guest activities where required

 


Candidate Requirements

  • OOW Yacht licence as a minimum
  • Valid STCW certification
  • Valid ENG1 medical
  • Previous experience onboard 50m+ motor yachts preferred
  • Strong navigational and bridge management knowledge
  • Experience with ISM/ISPS procedures
  • Confident leadership and crew management skills
  • Tender driving experience advantageous
  • Professional presentation and strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

Programme

  • Private live aboard owner programme
  • Mediterranean cruising itinerary during Summer. Winter in Spain
