Job Description

Magnitude Recruitment is seeking an experienced and technically strong Chief Engineer to join a 75m+ motor yacht operating in the UAE. This is a senior leadership role suited to a confident engineering professional capable of managing the full technical operation of a large yacht while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Captain and senior crew to ensure the vessel’s engineering systems are maintained to exceptional standards and that all operational and regulatory requirements are consistently met.

Key Requirements

• Minimum Chief Engineer <3000kW licence

• Previous experience as Chief Engineer on similar size yachts

• Strong knowledge of large yacht engineering systems and preventative maintenance

• Experience managing engineering departments and technical teams

• Valid STCW certification and ENG1

• Fluent English (spoken and written)

Engineering & Operational Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all engineering and technical operations onboard

• Maintain machinery, systems, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient vessel operation

• Implement and manage the planned maintenance system

• Ensure compliance with Class, Flag, and safety regulations

• Maintain engineering logs, documentation, and reporting

• Supervise and mentor engineering team members

• Coordinate with the Captain and management team regarding technical planning and operational requirements
