Magnitude Recruitment is seeking a motivated and hardworking Deckhand to join a 65m+ private motor yacht operating an active owner programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Deckhand looking to further their career onboard larger vessels, or a strong entry-level candidate with transferable skills and a genuine passion for the yachting industry.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, professional, and eager to learn, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Individuals with previous maritime, military, medical, carpentry, painting, polishing, or high-end detailing experience are encouraged to apply.
4/1 rotation, EUR salary
Key Requirements
- Previous Deckhand experience preferred, however exceptional green candidates will be considered
- Strong work ethic with a proactive and positive attitude
- Previous maritime or commercial marine experience advantageous
- Military background highly regarded
- Medical or first aid experience beneficial
- Carpentry, woodworking, painting, polishing, or detailing skills advantageous
- High attention to detail and pride in maintaining exceptional standards
- Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team environment
- Professional presentation and strong communication skills
- Valid STCW certification and ENG1 (or equivalent)
- Powerboat Level 2 or Yachtmaster qualifications advantageous
- Fluent English required
Deck Responsibilities
- Completion of daily deck duties as directed by the Bosun and Deck Officers
- Maintaining exterior cleanliness and presentation to the highest standards
- Washdowns, polishing, waxing, stainless steel detailing, and teak maintenance
- Assisting with docking, anchoring, mooring, and line handling operations
- Supporting tender operations and guest activities
- Assisting with watersports setup and equipment maintenance when required
- Participating in deck maintenance projects including painting, varnishing, and repairs
- Maintaining deck stores, equipment, and inventory
- Supporting safety drills and emergency response procedures
- Assisting with shipyard periods and maintenance projects as required
